Accepted Into University! ✏

I GOT INTO UNIVERSITY!

Ahh, I am so excited.

December 1st of 2014 I applied through QTAC to help me get a spot into Griffith University. I didn't think much of it after that. On January 15th of 2015, I remembered that I would hear back from QTAC. I went on my email account and checked Junk mail and saw an email with the title "Congratulations from QTAC. Respond now!" I was shocked. I didn't have high hopes that I would get accepted knowing that there are so many other people who would get rejected.

I completed a Diploma in 2012, and if I didn't do that course, I would have had no hope at all to get into university. My OP score from Grade 12 was too low unfortunately. I didn't try very hard at school, (which I will go into further in another post for my 2015 goals)

I responded to the email straight away and enrolled into Griffith. I was so very happy and shocked. I had a silly grin on my face for hours on end. I am enrolled as a full time student studying Bachelor of Business majoring in Event Management. I'm still going to try hard to get into the industry as hard as it is. Its crazy to think that I am a student again after so many years. I don't think I remember the proper way to write an essay. How embarrassing!

But because I got accepted into the second round, first round are all the current graduated Grade 12s, when it came to choosing my classes, a majority of the back to back classes were full. You might think that I am crazy and I'm most likely going to regret this later, but I have chosen to do 5 classes for semester one.

Classes that I am doing are;
  • Evaluation and Impact Assessment
  • Facility and Venue Management
  • Event Marketing and Sponsorship
  • Introduction to Marketing
  • Introduction to Event Management

Even though I did do the diploma in 2012 which can cut a year off my bachelor, I rather relearn everything the right way than assuming. I wasn't so excited when I did marketing so I'm hoping doing intro to marketing will motivate, inspire and excite me. I know one class I'm not looking forward to which isn't in the first semester is Accounting. I'm not very good at math. I'm pretty happy with my timetable. All the classes are during the day which will still allow me to work in the mornings before class or at night. The university I am enrolled in is right across the road from my work which cannot get anymore convenient then that.

I made a mini timetable for my Kikki K planner.

My first semester begins in the first week of March. I am so excited but yet so nervous and anxious. I remember last week I was awake at 1am with anxiety worrying about it and stressing out. My concerns are getting lost. The campus is huge! I did some more research and have a map of all the buildings and have a better understanding of what all the numbers mean on my timetable. And then I started stressing that I'm not going to make any friends and it just got out of proportion from there.

I have orientation day on the 25th February 2015. A day of meeting the professors, key academic admin staff, learning skills, etc. Best part of the day, free lunch haha. I don't think I will be joining any clubs. I sussed out the clubs they have at university and I don't think I would be suited to any of them. I have a feeling that I will be more to myself and not associate with a lot of university students at the beginning. Before orientation day, I have to go into the campus and get my student I.D card to avoid the mad rush on the day and also get a parking permit. Its going to cost me $250ish for the whole year but having it just in case will allow me to park wherever on campus.

I am thinking of writing up a post on my Kikki K planner or doing a "Plan With Me" post. I have been obsessed watching videos like that on youtube, finding new ways to decorate.

How is your year looking up?

Happy New Year

Hey everyone, I hope you are well.

Happy New Year!

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone. Absolutely insane. Did I even go overseas? Right now it feels like forever since I arrived back from my holidays overseas.

2014 in a nutshell for me was working and my overseas trip which was amazing and couldn't have gone without the loving support from my family. I have worked a lot learning more and discovering skills and enhancing them.

2015 hopefully will build me stronger and develop more new relationships. Fingers crossed that I will be accepted into university so I can go back to study and bring me a step closer to what I want to do.

My new years was insanely awesome. I went out with my friend and we went into the valley to a nightclub and Peking Duk was performing and a bunch of other people. It was so good and it was packed! We managed to get 2nd row from the front. Downside from the night was that I lost my I.D. Thankfully it wasn't my drivers license. I don't know what I would do if I lost my license.

My outfit for new years eve. Dress is from DollyGirlFashion and the shoes are from Famous Footwear

New Years Day we went up north to a foam party. Joel Fletcher and Timmy Trumpet were performing there. We have never been to this place and it was so much fun. Definitely need to go back but a taxi ride back home will cost a fortune!

From Kikki K I picked up "A Sentence A Day"

Yesterdays question:
What is your new years resolution?
Save more money and enjoy life a little more. Cook more, stop being lazy.

Todays question:
What kind of person do you want to be?
To be happy and content about my life and enjoy every moment.
(That one was a tough one)

How was your new years?

On My Mind

Long time no chat. I've started doing YouTube videos..

So I was chatting to this guy I went to school with. We never spoke before or even met. We kind of just knew each other's name and that's it. Four years later, he likes my Instagram photo and I'm like oh yeah so I go add him as a friend on facebook. We were chatting for about 2 weeks every single day. Now, I was being typical and flirting with him and pretty much test the waters. He seemed to like it and retaliate back. One day I asked him "what do you want for Christmas" he told me and he asked what I wanted. Me joking around I said "a kiss". Harmless right? Well let's just say that was the last message he ever sent to me. I have sent him Msgs and snapchats asking him why he was ignoring me. I can see the Msgs have been read but alas no reply. His good friends with my brother and he found it weird. Well my brother found out and he doesn't care!

This guy has been on my mind.

But not as much as this one...

I was seeing this guy (work colleague) last October. We only saw each other for two weeks. You would think that seeiing someone for such a short amount of time I would be over it or not thinking about him. Well! Someone once told me that when you meet someone and you get a strong connection, you know that you have to be with them. And that's the case in my scenario. I can't stop thinking about this guy. We had a great connection and meshed well fast. We are still work colleagues and he is a very quiet shy guy. But them muscles. My oh my. I feel like I have to try again with him. Connect with him again on a personal level. I sometimes get the vibe his interested but then next minute his not. Mind blown. Confused.

And so these are the two guys I can't stop thinking about. One is ignoring me and the other im not quite sure. His hard to read.

I get so frustrated that others don't give me a chance to get to know me. I feel that the guy I went to school with, I'm still being judged from 4 years ago. He didn't give me a chance to get to know me as a person and not as "his mates sister". I thought could give something a go. He is going to canada for two years nonetheless.

Blogmas Day One; Decorating!

Good morning. It's actually Tuesday, I forgot to write yesterday oops.

It's finally the first day of December. Countdown begins till christmas and then the new year. First day of summer here. I think I saw on my weather app somewhere that its going to be storming for a whole week... yay?

I had today off from work, and I also have tomorrow off. It will be nice to relax and not worry about being late for work. Today I spent all day decorating the house all christmassy. I put up the tree and decorated my room. I made these awesome giant snowflakes to hang on my wall and I also made a little Olaf.

I am also looking at applying for university to do a bachelor in business majoring in event management.

What did you do for your first day of december? Do you have any plans for the holiday? Are you going away?

Till next time,

What a Night! First World Problems

Well this is a first for me to write a post from my phone.

What a night!

A huge storm came through brisbane. Luckily I didn't get hit by it. Some of my friends on my personal facebook were posting photos and videos of the storm in the city. It was crazy. When I get home I will find a way to post the video of one of them on here. The wind and the rain, one of my friends actually got hit by a hail stone I think.

That being said, I was on my way to work when all of this was occurring. Now usually I know how long it normally takes for me to get to work from certain areas. At this area, I knew it would take me less then 15 mins to get to work. So I'm thinking to myself, yeah alright I will get to work in plenty of time. Without any knowledge that a huge hold up was just up the highway from where I was. Two highways from what I could see had huge traffic jams. Remember how I said it would only take me 15 mins to get to work from that point? Well it ended up taking me an hour and 15 minutes to get to work. In stop go traffic. Omg! I was going crazy. I called my friend up and she told me that a transformer exploded either from getting hit by the lightening or a car hit it. One petrol station was closed for this reason. Now that was very bad news for me. I had my petrol light on and my car was desperate to be filled up. In the situation all you can really do is laugh. No point getting angry and upset. So that's just what I did. I laughed. I then got in contact with my supervisor after a few attempts and asked what --

--just got some petrol--

Okay so I asked what was going on and she said that we have no power at work. By this point I'm like I'm still going to work. Finally I rocked up to work and it's all pitch black and all the guests from the motel rooms are in the restaurant having drinks. That's all we can give to them. Serving by candlelight and torches. We also had a 3 course dinner function for 70 people. Apparently the power wasn't going to come back on till 730 then it changed to 830 and now it's not till 2am. One of the supervisors sent me and another person home. Luckily I just made it to the petrol station before I don't know what I would do if I broke down in the middle of traffic. Oh yea and now I'm stuck in traffic. Let's see how long this will take me to get home. It's alright I have Doritos and a bottle of water to snack on. Would have been better if it was redbull. I asked the guy behind the counter at the petrol station if he knew what was going on. He said one of the main roads has no power and is flooded and something about rolled trucks. What a night hey. Steph all you can do is laugh. Just laugh it off.

I just saw a tree on top of a car. The car is okay the tree is not.

Right now it is 7.55pm.
- 8.25pm And reached the area where the traffic started on the way. Not bad.

Update (11.22am Friday): Went into work this morning and the power was still out. Now the estimate time is at 2pm. We served cereal and fruit to guests. I can tell you it was a long morning.

Summer Vibes & Essentials ☀

I look ridiculous right now. I am about to write a post about summer and sunshine and its currently storming.

Hey. Hows it going?

It is getting closer to christmas which means closer to summer here in Australia. To get in the spirit for all my southern hemisphere followers, I have assembled a few inspirational pointers to get us all excited for the season.

1// Summer is approaching which means longer days and warmer nights

2// Beach parties. Bonfire parties. Any sort of outdoor event. Slap on your shoes and shorts and live the night away. And preferably a top of some sort, a bikini.

3// Festivals. We have Soundwave coming up in February in Melbourne.

4// Watermelon. I think watermelon is the perfect summer fruit along side mangoes. Omg I love mangoes! The fruit is so juicy and refreshing and you can make shakes, punches, smoothies or anything that has the ingredient in it.

5// Bike rides. Along side a beach = perfection. Theres nothing better then the feeling of the wind whipping through your hair, the taste of your hair in your mouth that when you stop you have a crows nest on top of your head, as you ride along. You don't even have to be a pro at bike riding. As long as you can control the direction your riding, balance, and stop, you are all good to go.

6// Sunglasses. Without them you would be blind from that hot summer sun. Plus its a super cute accessory.

7// Beach. I am so excited to be able to go down to the beach and have a swim in the ocean without freezing. Personally, I love australian beaches. We have amazing "sand" - is that too weird to say? - and surf. I love that while the temperature is really hot the surf is warm also. Unlike in Europe, when I went there in June and I basically froze my nipples off from the ice cold water in hot weather. No logic.

8// Sunscreen. Or is it sun cream? I had to learn this the hard way. I went to the beach couple of weeks back and it was one of those breezy days. I couldn't physically feel how hot the sun was because of the wind that I may have accidentally put sunscreen on my back and later came back home looking like a legit back lobster. My front was fine. Lesson learnt. Remember to slip slop and slap.

9// Lip Balm. I hate having chapped dry lips so I use maybelline baby lips continuously. The baby lips are so moisturising plus they smell pretty good.

These are a few of my top vibes and essentials. There a probably a whole heap more of essentials I have skipped out on.

If you would like to know my beauty essentials for summer please comment below. For my northern hemisphere followers, what are your winter essentials? What are you looking forward to the most in December?

P.S Do my posts look better with a larger font size?

How Is It That Time Of Year..Again?

It is currently just after 11.30pm and I have been thinking a lot about the past year. First off, I cannot believe we are already in November. It is almost christmas and I have to admit I have done zero --zip zilch-- of shopping.

Lets take it back and remember the good 'ol times.

"...this time last year I was so excited to be going overseas in 7 months!"
"...I spent my summer at home and no time at the beach"
"...I made my ritual trifle for christmas"
"...I worked my butt off in March when my colleague went overseas"
"...I celebrated my birthday on an airplane"
"...I had zero sleep the night before my birthday also being the day I boarded my flight"
"...I had a jumble of nerves and emotions"
"...I flew overseas BY MYSELF and back safely"
"...I was actually in Paris and walked on the steps of the eiffel tower" (got a kiss right in front of it)
"...I was in 15 different countries over the 5 week span"
"...I saw my grandparents again for the first time in 4 years"
"...I have been back in the country for 4 months"

That's a lot of facts that happened in the year that flew by so quickly. I believe the years are just going to go by faster and faster the older you get. My theory behind it is because you have more shit to get done during the day.

Lets take a break and have a kit kat
